Intellicus 6 introduces the concept of Deep Access Rights. This Feature provides the Administrator a flexibility to provide the access rights at top level and those access rights shall flow down in the hierarchy to associated objects. So now if the Administrator has given "Execute" access rights on a Dashboard widget to a user with "including associated objects" option, then access rights on subsequent separate objects such as report, query object will be assumed as "Execute". This reduces administrative overhead. Anyways, if you do not select "including associated objects" option then previous behavior prevails and each object involved in serving the widget must be granted access upon.
The granted user will have access to the base object only via the top level explicitly access granted object. The same Query Object or Report cannot be accessed by the same user via another Widget on which no access rights has been granted.
Speedily growing cloud based deployments and other remote deployment scenarios generate the need ot secured connections of databases even on open internet channels.
One way of secure data transfer is through a SSH tunnel. In this technique, one of the ports of the router is mapped to an SSH server port on the SSH server machine. All the SSH requests are redirected to this port. SSH server machine decrypts this incoming data and forwards it to the database machine behind the firewall.
Intellicus now supports connecting to databases using SSH tunnel.
The following information will be collected to establish an SSH tunnel based connection to a remote database.
