Charting generally needs processing of data, in terms of sorting and grouping, in small or large amounts. Extracting full data from data store and processing in Intellicus may consume more compute time compared to some of the database and analytical engines.
When running smart reports with charts out of data from the database engines capable of aggregating data, Intellcus 16.3 delegates those data processing to the source database engines. This reduces the transport of data over network drastically, and generates the required aggregates in the most efficient and speedier way.
When you run smart reports with charts coming out of billions of rows from database or analytical engines like Oracle, MSSQL, Vertica, Teradata etc. maximum processing will be delegated to these engines and you can render charts in 5-20 seconds.
This feature enables Intellicus to utilize the data processing capabilities of various RDBMS data sources and provide improved performance in rendering smart reports.
If the underlying source database is not capable of doing aggregations, then Intellicus will perform the processing as before.
This enhancement scales up the rendering capacity of the smart report grid to load large volume of records (in the range of multi-million rows) without any performance lag on the browser.
The smart report grid data is smartly retained at the web server and loaded as per view, scroll, pagination, filtering and sorting actions of the user. A small in-memory data engine empowers the smart report grids to respond to user actions in fraction of second.
Now, whatever amount of data is loaded on smart report grids, the browser does not gets unresponsive.
To improve performance in rendering data on UI, automatic chunk size is determined while fetching the response data of grid in smart reports.
Intellicus now dynamically calculates the number of rows to be sent in one chunk based on number of columns in the report data set.
Intellicus 16.3 has improved the file size of published reports on server disk space.
The published report data is now compressed, while storing the data on the hard disk. The compression ratio that Intellicus can achieve has a significant impact on the amount of space required to store smart reports.
